Midday Prayers

Monday to Friday at 12 noon

Each day during the week at St. Margaret's we hold Midday Prayers in the chapel. A simple format is used where there is time and space to reflect upon bible readings and then enter into a time of prayer. Everyone is invited to pray, either out loud or within the quietness of our hearts. We believe in the power of prayer. Please join us.

Chaplaincy in the workplace

We find that, from time to time, many people need someone to talk to, or a safe place where they can share concerns.

All to often difficult circumstances or simply the pressures of life can leave us stressed or worried. It can be difficult to know where to turn.

If you find yourself in this position why not contact the Uxbridge Town Chaplaincy?

Baptism marks the entry of a person into the Christian community of faith. We baptize people during services.

We offer traditional infant Baptism and also Baptism by full immersion.

The Parish Office is happy to answer any preliminary questions you may have. The Church of England website has further information about baptism.

Baptism involves a commitment to a new way of life in the Christian community. As you can see from the rest of the website, there are a range of activities for children and adults. In due course, children may wish to make their own formal declaration of faith, by being confirmed.

Open Church - We are open 7 days a week

The church is open each day where you can sit quietly, reflect, pray and light a candle. There are pastoral workers and clergy available if you would like to talk to someone or be prayed with.

St. Margaret's is a vibrant worshipping community with opportunities to discuss and be prayed with by our prayer team and pastoral workers after each service.

Seeking God with friends

One to one's with clergy, staff and friends

People at St. Margaret's are always happy to talk with individuals on their journey towards faith in Jesus Christ. All members of the clergy and a range of staff members and parishioners are happy to meet and pray with you.

Our vision is to see lives transformed here in Uxbridge. Please send us a message using the form on the homepage if this interests you.

Prayer is just speaking to God

And yet there is no ‘just’ about it: we pray not on our own, but in the name of Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit. We also pray alongside Christians throughout the ages and around the world. Such prayer acknowledges the just and gentle rule of God over every situation, and is used by God to bring his love to the world.

There is no ‘hidden secret’ when it comes to prayer. Anyone can pray, at any time and in any place. Why not begin now? You could use the words of the Lord’s Prayer as a starting point, from which you can launch into telling God your own hopes, anxieties, doubts and faith. God promises to listen.

Confirmation is a public statement of belonging to the Christian community. It is a rite of passage to confirm, strengthen, establish and secure the person in their Christian journey. As it is secondary to baptism, it is a way for those who have been baptised to affirm for themselves what was done for them at their baptism, if that took place when they were an infant. If they were baptised as an adult it is perhaps more of an underlining with prayer of the choice that person has made to undertake a journey of faith. It means the strengthening or deepening of one's Christian belief and the admittance as a full member of the Church.

Whatever your age, if you are interested in being confirmed, look out for details of confirmation classes and/or contact the parish office to discuss preparation and confirmation.
