Open Church
at St Margaret's Church
The Church is OPEN for worship on Sunday at 10am
St Margaret’s Church is open 11am – 12.30pm on Wednesdays and we warmly welcome any who would like to drop in for a chat, to seek help, to light a candle or to pray. We would also warmly welcome you to join us on Sundays.
We are also open again for public worship on Sundays 10.00am, a simple service of The Word followed by a short celebration of Holy Communion for those who would like to stay. Seating is limited due to Covid restrictions but the service is being live streamed, so you are very welcome to join us on Facebook or here on the website.
A simple said service of Holy Communion will also be available for those who would like to join us from Wednesday 11th November at 10.30am in St Margaret’s Church.
There are many reasons why people in the local community value the fact that St Margaret’s Church is open 7 days a week. The church is open each day so that people can come in to worship, pray, socialise, meet new friends or find support pastorally, spiritually and practically.
The Oasis Coffee Shop is open from 10am until 2pm from Monday to Friday and then 10am until 3pm on Saturday. The Oasis Coffee Shop is a great place to find rest and refreshment. During Oasis Coffee Shop hours there is always an outreach pastoral worker on hand to sit, listen and/or pray with both regular visitors and those popping in on the off chance.
The church is also open each day so that people can know there is a place, right in the heart of the town centre, where you can sit, reflect and pray quietly on your own. The main body of the church is a real oasis of peace and calm, even when all is busy in the Oasis Coffee Shop and elsewhere in the church.
Open Church means we are open each day of the week and open to all member of the local community, including residents and those working in the town. We also warmly welcome visitors who live further afield, some overseas. On Sunday there are three main services at 9am, 10.45am and 7pm.
For some it is just a coffee and a piece of cake they are after. The staff and volunteers in the Oasis Coffee Shop will warmly welcome and serve you. Do come and see us, even if you haven’t visited us before. Everyone is welcome.
